Officers from the Wilton Police Department stopped Norwalk resident Michael Ronemus shortly before 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, following multiple reports of an erratic motorist.
During the subsequent traffic stop, police said that Ronemus failed multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and “there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” on him. After being taken into police custody, Ronemus refused to submit to a breathalyzer.
Ronemus was arrested and charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. After he was processed, Ronemus was released on $250 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, Dec. 13 to answer the charge.
